This study was conducted to determine whether there is a relationship between the attitudes of secondary school students towards visual art lesson and their attitudes towards violence, in order to determine the level of the relationship, if there is a relationship. It is thought that the findings of the study will contribute to the planning processes related to education. This study is a descriptive study based on quantitative research. An existing situation has been tried to be depicted using the scales and also the relationship level of the variables are examined. The research universe consists of the students of the secondary education institutions of the Ministry of National Education in the city center of Adana in the academic year 2017-2018. The study was carried out on 978 students from 12 secondary schools in Seyhan, Çukurova, Sarıçam and Yüreğir. In the study, Attitude Scale towards Visual Arts Lesson developed by Tan (2006) and Violence Tendency Scale developed by Haskan (2009) were used. In addition, for the purpose of measure the independent variables, Personal Information Form consisting of 17 questions prepared by the researcher was used. SPSS Statistics 17.0 package program was used for statistical analysis. According to the type of data, correlation (r), t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and determination of percentage transcriptions were made and Bonferrino, Post-Hoct Dunnett C Test and Post-Hoc Tamhane's T2 test were used to determine which groups were caused by the difference in cases where the value of F was significant. As a result of the study, a negative relation was found between attitudes towards Visual Arts lesson and violence tendencies. In the study, it was determined that the students' socio-demographic characteristics, gender, number of siblings, their parents' monthly income and their work places affected students' attitudes towards the Visual Arts lesson or their tendency towards violence. It was also observed that the activities of out-of-school art influenced their attitudes towards the Visual Arts lesson positively. In addition to these, significant results have been reached regarding violence tendencies and attitudes towards Visual Arts lesson according to the class, the supply of the course materials, the presence of workshops in the school and of the gender of the Visual Arts teacher, too.
