Developing the suggestions about identifying and correcting the misconceptions on the electrochemistry units for the chemistry teachers in secondary schools

Determining the term misconceptions on the electrochemistry of the chemistry teachers who work in secondary education and improving the necessary recommendations to overcome them.Education of term is very important for the aspects of understanding the subject and building the effective learning in chemistry education. Currently there has been many studies which were hold on determining the term misconceptions of the children , their reasons and also handling them. As a result of these studies , it has been accepted by everyone that the initial determiner of the students chemistry education is the teacher itself.The main purpose of this research , determining initially the term misconceptions of the teachers and improving the necessary recommendations to overcome them. In order to get over the students term misconceptions .For this reason , a term test about electrochemistry unit subjects had been prepared and then applied to the teachers who work in İZMİR in Konak district.As a result of the study , it has been determined that the teacher who work in secondary education has had term misconceptions about electrochemistry unit and it has been found that there is not a significant difference between the term misconceptions that the teachers have among themselves and the working duration in statistical terms.Key Words: Misconception, Chemistry Education, Electrochemistry, Constructivist Learning
