The sample group of the research consists of 200 students in 4 different state secondary schools and 1 private secondary school which are selected in the province of Bingöl. The success of students in Social Studies Course depends on cognitive factors as well as affective factors such as anxieties, concers and beliefs. There are limited researches on the anxiety problems of the secondary school students for the social studies which are also one of the affective factors. In this respect, it is thought that this study, which aims to investigate the anxieties according to the various variables of 5th grade students of secondary school, will contribute to teachers, administrators and families in order to take various precautions for the students with anxiety. The variables such as gender of the students, the school type, social studies achievement grade form ''the independent variables'' while the variables such as the anxiety scores of the students for the social studies form ''the dependent variables'' in this study. In this study, the general survey method is used for targeting the describing of the anxiety scores of the 5th grade students for the social studies in terms of different variables. During the analysis of data, the range of the students are evaluated according to the descriptive statistics of the genders, the school types, social studies final grades and the educational attainment of the families. Moreover, it is also clarified whether there are any meaningful differences among the variables through the T-tests and the analysis of variance. When the obtained data from Social Studies anxiety is evaluated, it is found that students' anxiety about Social Studies course is not at the level of ''frequently'', ''usually'' and ''always'', but it is at the level of '' never'' and ''rarely''. The anxiety of the students according to gender, education level and school type did not show statistically any significant difference. But, according to the achievement score, the anxiety level of the students showed a statistically significant difference.
