Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to analyze to give the meaning of acquirement of the sphere and volume calculation of geometric objects with the help of Cabri 3D software. In this sense, it has been studied the influence of Cabri 3D on student success and attitude in the study. Besides, it is aimed to observe whether there is a meaningful relation between the success of the students in sphere and volume calculation of geometric objects and the attitude of the students to mathematic lesson. The study is conducted by a quasi-experimental method determining the effect of Cabri 3D software on student success and attitude in teaching sphereand volume of the students in secondary school mathematic lesson. The study is made up of 6TH 7TH and 8TH grade students studying at Atatürk Secondary School depended on Ministry of Education in Maden, Elazığ, in 2013-2014 school year. The research sample has a trait which will help perform the purpose of study and representation qualification. 30 students at 6TH grade, 28 students at 7TH grade and 38 students at 8TH grade were selected randomly and then two groups were formed of these students among themselves equally to their levels. One of the two has been selected as a control group and the other has been selected as a experimental group. Before starting the study, geometric objects success test, mathematics concern scale conducted on the groups were performed again in the end. The students in experimental group were informed about the basic characteristics of Cabri Geometry in computer lab. The students were separated in double groups to have more interaction between themselves. The students have prepared the worksheets cooperatively. At the end of the every activity, enough spaces were left for the students to write their views. At the end of this study, it has turned out that Cabri 3Dwhich was applied on experimental group is more effective than the other available method in teaching Area and Volumes of Geometric Objects 6TH 7TH and 8TH grade students success and attitude in mathematics lesson. This result is explained by teaching activities in experimental group. Because the students this group had the opportunity to try, test their knowledge and to get the result by themselves. In addition, the students in this group were supplied by worksheets. They had a chance to configure their results through Cabri 3D. Moreover the program enabled visualization in geometric objects, carrying and rotating the objects that were created . The motivation levels of the students to the lesson can be enhanced by using this program and software in the lessons.
