Abstract (EN)

In our country, religious education of has developed by going through some stages. For instance, in secondary school curriculums, the lesson of religion which was in standart program until 1927,between the years of 1956 and 1982 it was thought as elective for 25 years.In 1982-1983 Education year, the lesson of religion and the lesson of Morals were united and got the name of Religion and Morals and became obligatory. According to 1982 constitution, every one of citizens has to get the education of Religion, it is a social right that you must have under the supervision of government, and it became one of the obligatory lessons in primary and secondary schools. Today, Religion and Morals is being taught 2 hours per week for 4, 5, 6, 7 8th grades in primary and secondary schools, 1 hour per week for 9, 10, 11 and 12th grades in high schools. In our country, in 2012 there are important developments in the field of formal religion education. The most concrete example from this, the lessons like Holy Quran, The Life of Mohammed and Basic Religious Information have been included as optional lessons besides Religion and Morals lessons that are obligatory in secondary and high schools since 2012-2013 educational years. Religion and Morals lesson has been constructed as six different educational fields as "Belief, Worship, Hz. Mohammed, Quran, its ınterpretation, Morals, Religion and Culture." Though Basic Religious Information hasn't got different educational fields, the lessons of Islam I has been constructed as units of "Introduction of İslam, Creation according to Islam, Conditions of Faith, Five Basis of İslam, Goodness according to Islam, and Our Responsibilities according to Islam."Islam II has been constructed as units of "Basis of Faith, Worship in İslam, Islamic Rules in Daily Life, The Basis of Society: Family, the Consciousness of Society and Spiritual Side of Human according to İslam." The purpose of this study, to make a general revision of discussions that occupied a place in press because of the importance of optional religion lessons in 2012-2013 educational years, to remember the phases of Religion and Morals and Basic Religious Information lesson through history, to be able to compare the educational programs of Religion and Morals Basic Religious Information in secondary schools from the aspects of general purposes and outcomes, content, the situation of learning and teaching, principles of measuring and evaluation.
