Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to examine the effect of in-service training given to middle school mathematics teachers, which is enriched with concrete material (CM) supported activities, on teachers' frequency of using materials, their opinions, knowledge and skills. Nine mathematics teachers working in the province of Rize, were included in this study. Teachers' opinions about the use of CM were taken and in-service training course was given to them. In the course, sample activities were presented to teachers through the worksheets regarding how to integrate CM into their lessons. Subsequently, teachers' opinions about the use of concrete materials were taken and they were asked to design sample activities. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by using qualitative methods. According to the findings of the research, it was determined that the teachers started to think more positively about the use of concrete materials at the end of the course. In addition, the teachers experienced how to integrate CM usage into the education process.
