The development of artificial intelligence literacy program for secondary school students

In the study, a program was designed, developed and implemented in order to provide secondary school students with artificial intelligence literacy competencies. In the creation of the program, artificial intelligence literacy competencies and design principles were taken as basis and the Taba-Tyler curriculum development model was used. The research was structured as a design and development research and three implementation phases were established according to its requirements. In each of the phases, data collection tools were used to ensure that the program was adjusted. Quantitative analyzes were analyzed using the SPSS25 program, and qualitative analyzes were analyzed using the MAXQDA program. The study groups of the phases are divided into seven students, twelve teacher candidates and twenty-four teachers. The first phase application with the student group was applied for 12 weeks as the program was prepared. During the application, access test, rubric, research diaries and course observation form data collection tools were used and as a result of the analysis of the obtained data, it was determined that the students acquired the targeted achievements on the subject. In order to control the learning of the students, the access tests were examined with the Friedman test and significant differences were determined between the tests. By taking data from other data collection tools, arrangements were made in the program. After the arrangement of the program, the second phase application was made with the teacher candidates and the data were collected with the rubric. In line with the application, the third phase application was made by making arrangements and sample diversification in the program again. In the last application made with the teachers, the content, activities and topics of the teachers' program were made to be finalized by using the interview data collection tool. In line with the developed program and the analyzes made, it can be said that the application of this program to secondary school students will contribute to the acquisition of proficiency.
