Abstract (EN)
Internet, which is a part of our daily life, affects almost every area of our life. Widespread use of the internet has brought the problem of the overuse and problematic Internet use on the agenda. Problematic Internet use negatively affects the children and adolescents spiritually and physically. In this study, the relationship between problematic Internet use of 8th grade students that are in their transition period and perceived parental attitudes were examined. The study was conducted with 376 students, that are 189 male and 187 female and 8th Grade in 2015-2016. "Personal Information Form", "Problematic Internet Use Scale" and "Parental Attitude Scale" were applied to the students participating in the study. general screening method was used in the descriptive qualified research. In analyzing the data, SPSS software, t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) techniques were used. When the findings are evaluated,it was observed that the problematic Internet usage did not significantly differ according to the mother's level of education, the father's level of education, family income, mother's working, or not, but it significantly differed according to sex, having own room, tools to connect to the internet, having tablets, computers or mobile phone or not. When the findings about relationship between problematic Internet use and perceived parental attitudes are evaluated, while the negative consequences of the internet showed a negative relationship with social benefits, excessive use, problematic Internet use and democratic attitudes, it shows a positive relationship between Protecting requester attitude and authoritarian attitude.
