Abstract (EN)

The necessity of the internet is an undeniably accepted fact today. The internet, which we use for public affairs, shopping, social communication and finally for education with the pandemic, has both benefits and harms. Some studies have revealed that it causes addiction in people who do not know how to use the internet correctly or ignore it and causes various physical, mental and social problems related to this addiction. Today, most students use the internet not only for communication but also for leisure activities. This study was conducted to see whether this situation caused an addiction in students who started to spend more time on the internet than usual. In the context of this purpose, the level of internet addiction in students from a secondary school affiliated to the national education was investigated. Quantitative research methods were used in the study and the survey technique, one of the addiction level measurement tools, was used. As a result of this survey applied in a secondary school affiliated to the national education, when the students' internet addiction level was evaluated in general, it can be said that the addiction was at a moderate level. In order to prevent this dependency level from increasing and to ensure that it decreases further, it is thought that policy makers, school administrations and parents should take some measures in terms of control and responsibility.
