Analysis of middle-school students' attitudes toward robotic education and science

Abstract (EN)

In this study, robotic education and science attitudes of middle school students were examined. The research was carried out in the distance education process in the 2020-2021 academic year. The study was attended by 364 secondary school students who studied in public and private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. As a method, the dethral scanning model used in quantitative research was selected. As data collection tools, Science Attitude Scale consisting of 20 substances of type 5 Likert and Robotic Attitude Scale consisting of 24 substances of type 5 Likert were used. The Robotic Attitude Scale developed by Cross was adapted to Turkish by Şişman and Küçük. As a result of the confidence analyses of the Robotic Attitude Scale, Cronbach's alpha fold number for the entire scale was calculated as .932. The Science Attitude Scale was calculated as Cronbach's alpha fold number .84. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed by calculating the t-test and pearson correlation coefficient. At the end of the study, there was no significant difference in the robotic education and fene attitudes of middle school students of the school type. By working with different sample groups, it can be re-examined whether the difference makes sense. Researches can be conducted in which students' robotic education and attitudes regarding science can be examined in terms of various variables. Educational robot sets, the attitude in the field of robotics can be supported with more concrete data through experimental studies with applications in which robotics is integrated into the Science course.
