The effects of concept caricature on attitude of secondary school students to mathematics and removing of concept error about triangles and tetragons

There have been some changes in profiles of human beings with developing of science of technologic. It is aimed to grow up people who grow up information, solve problems, thinks critical. There fore, the understanding of education to grow up human beings who are rogatory, productive explorer, think creative, is dominant. And also countries revise and organize their education programmes to serve htis understanding. Within this scope our country has also revise the programmes and give inporlance to Mathematics in consequence of these developments. Teaching Mathematics in on ordinary way couses children who have different learning styles and learn in quick way, dislike Mathematics and learn wrongly and lack way. So, ıt is necessary to support Mathematics lessons with contemprary techniques. Concept caricatures is one of these ones. It is a technique in which there are some information about a concept, children discuss in groups or as a whole, and also it aims to remove conept mistakes of students. In tıhis study, ıt is aim to study the effects of using concept caricatures to remove concepts mistakes of students in triangles and tetragons and also their attitudes towards Mathematics. The study has carried out in, in a state school in Çankırı in spring semester of 2018-2019 education year. It is studied with 55 students, 28 of them are experiment group, 27 of them are control group, in which study quantitative and qualitative techniques are used in company is rolled Explanatory pattern. "Success Test, Attirude Scale, Concept Caricature, Student Feedback Form" are used as data collecting tool. A Mathematics test consists of 25 questions and concept caricatures used in process of experimental operetion are developed by researcher, the study of legitimacy and credibility is done. To analyse hte datas used t test, Wilcoxon Marked Order test, ANCOVA analysis method are used with the help of SPSS program. Concent analysis methods and charts are used in analysis of qualitative datas to support quantitative datas. It is concluded that the use of concept concepts is an effective way which has on pozitif effect on students success of Mathematics and attitudes towards Mathematics and alsa it is obtained using concept caricature forms meaningful discrepancy on behalf of experimental group. In the process of teaching in which concept caricatures are used, students in experimental group express that they learn better, have much fun and they are willing to learn by the help of concept caricatures. As a result, Mathematics teachers can use htis technique in their lessons.
