Opinions of Religious Culture and Ethics Course teachers working in secondary schools on the use of smart boards

In this master's thesis, the opinions of Religious Culture and Ethics Course teachers working in Secondary Schools regarding the use of smart boards were examined. An attempt was made to make an analysis based on teachers' opinions on issues such as the use of technology by Religious Culture and Ethics teachers working in secondary schools during the lesson, the smart board applications they use while teaching their lessons, what kind of tools and equipment they use in their lessons, the advantages and disadvantages offered by the use of smart boards. This thesis research; It was prepared through a semi-structured interview form with 25 Religious Culture and Ethics teachers working in secondary schools in Çiğli district of İzmir province, in the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. A concept was created by taking notes from the interviews with the participants during the thesis study. Content analysis with coding method was applied in data analysis. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained in the study, it was determined that Religious Culture and Ethics teachers working in secondary schools were quite willing to use smart boards while teaching their lessons. It was observed that the teachers I interviewed tried to use synchronous teaching methods and techniques to make their lessons more productive and that they wanted to diversify their materials during practice. However, it was also concluded that they had some difficulties with the technological infrastructure in the schools where they worked, and that they also needed some training on the use of technology.
