Abstract (EN)
In today's educational life, grammar teaching is not a purpose anymore, but a tool ensuring the efficient and correct usage of language. This tool ensures the regulation of the language acquisition process starting from the mother's womb and raising awareness in national language. It realizes the completion of the deficiencies of the language acquired at home and streets, correct reflection of the ideas and feelings of the individuals and precise reception of the existent ones. The person to know the rules of the language s/he speaks brings together for him to express himself/herself more comfortably and accurately via speaking and writing and to understand what s/he has listened or read in the desired level. For this reason; knowing the rules of the language (learning grammar) extracts language from being a competence (an innate trait) and makes it a skill and habit. The more the scale of dominance over the rules of the language, in other words, the rules of the language are known, the better the person could be skilled in the issue of language. Therefore; all formal language educations in the world take the grammar education into consideration while improving the speaking, listening, writing and reading skills of the individuals. While it is easier to observe this situation in behaviorist methods (because, they use the way of teaching the rules and improving speaking, listening, writing and reading skills with exercises convenient to them), this situation could not be observed as clear as behaviorist methods in the cognitive and constructivist approaches; because the rules of the language are hidden in the reading and listening texts in these approaches. They are taught to the students by implication method. Also in this study, the students have been aimed to learn the Turkish grammar rules and realize the historical Turkish culture elements while learning the rules via the tools such as reading texts. In this study prepared according to the modern language education understanding, firstly the learning outcomes taking place in the Turkish Lesson Teaching Program have been listed, the activities taking part in the textbooks in convenience to these outcomes and after that, alternative arrangements have been conducted for Dede Korkut Stories being important in terms of the Turkish Cultural History to be able to be used in grammar teaching and to be able to take place in the reading texts and in-lesson activities. In these arrangements, teaching the basic language skills to the individuals via implication and also conducting the cultural education while teaching the expression opportunities of the language have been taken as the basis. In this study; word types being one of the widest subjects of grammar have been handled instead of including all of the Turkish grammar learning outcomes. Depending on this limitation, the study consists of three stages. The first one is the word types and teaching them, the second one is the activities presented for teaching the word types in textbooks and the third one is the alternative activities produced by using Dede Korkut Stories. In this way; the existent ones and the ones that must exist have been presented altogether and it has been ensured to realize more comfortably the difference between them and those that could be conducted for the cultural learning to be able to be realized together with the grammar teaching. This situation will also bring together a spiral education in which the students will also be able to find opportunities to recognize the Turkish culture instead of having grammar education via the randomly selected and absolute fictional texts. The students will not need to make an additional effort to learn the traditions belonging to the Turkish lifestyle, in-family relations and the material cultural elements. In other words; both time will be saved and quality will increase due to the fact that the two works (cultural education and grammar education) and the coincidences and fictionality in education will die out. The expansion of this study prepared on the basis of the Dede Korkut Stories and word types in a way that it will cover the other Turkish cultural texts and grammar subjects will provide opportunities for teaching the subjects like grammar, cultural education and values education during the improvement of the language skills in Turkish education.
