Abstract (EN)

Teacherfs's Skills At Manayging Lesson Time Effectively At Middle Schools(According To Students' Perceptions)In this study, the purpose is to clarify the students? perception about the teachers? effective using of lesson time and to make reasonable suggestions. These teachers are choosen among the ones who work as subject teachers in İstanbul, Pendik middle schools. So, the study considers students who attend middle schools in Pendik District in 2012-2013 educational year. The sample of this study concerns middle schools in Pendik, İstanbul and they have been seperated in four groups as ?very good?, ?good?, ?middle? and ?low?, according to social- economical level and schools? success grading. Two schools were randomly chosen from these four groups. Totality 8 schools and in these schools 834 students took place in this sample.In this survey, a questionnaire was carried out to have datas. All reliability and validity studies were done by the surveyor. To prepare the questionnaire, first, literature survey has been done, then the ideas and opinions of the teachers were taken into consideration. Finally a questionnaire plan was prepared. For content validity, the professionals? opinions taken and a questionnaire pool was prepared including 60 questions. By taking out or adding some questions with the views of professionals, some changes were done. At last, a questionnaire was developed including 35 questions.Data was entered and analysed by SPSS packet programme. According to the students? gender, age, grade and their class size factors, all datas were surveyed. ?t? test was used for gender factor; one way variance analysis (ANOVA) was used for age, grade and class size factors. To determine the differences between obtained results taken from ANOVA , Post-Hoc LSD and Scheffe Tests were implemented. Besides, in the data analysis, frequence (N), Percentage (%),arithmetic average (X), and Standard Deviation (Ss) of all questions were obtained. At the significance test 0.05 level was based on.The findings of this study reveals that there are differences on students? perceptions to the teachers? skills at managing lesson time effectively. And in correspondance to this statement, the obtained results were discussed and necessary suggestions were made.Keywords: Time Management, Lesson Time, Skills Of Spending Lesson Time Effectively, Student?s Perception.
