Özet (EN)

It is known for a long tine that the removal of metals from the environment with heavy metal pollution phytoplanktonic algae can be utilized. This method is also both more economical and more efficient way compared to other disposal methods. This study aimed to determine Oscillatoria sp. of microalgae removal capacity for Cr(VI) and Zn(II) ions from high levels of the waste water. Respectively K2CrO4 and Zn(NO3)26H2O compounds used for metal binding studies. In the biosorption process Oscillatoria sp. live and dead cells were exposed for 24 hours to chromium, and zinc metals of different concentrations (2.5, 5 and 10 ppm). In addition, chlorophyll-a analysis have been made to examine the effects on cell metabolism of chromium and zinc metals. The best metal removal percentages was obtained; of chromium(VI) ion is 46.74% with dead cells; for zinc(II) ion 82.53% with living cells. Chlorophyll-a analysis shows that when the metals separately applied chlorophyll-a content of organism increase but when metals together applied reduction of chlorophyll-a content was observed. As a conclusion this microalgae that is fast growing and easy availability in the nature. It shows that it is a kind of potential for heavy metal removal operations.
