In this study, we attach importance to addressing and evaluating the level of consciousness and literacy of the society in the fight against disasters. Because it plays an active role in coping with disasters and preparedness stage of the society with high literacy level. The aim of this study is to determine the natural disaster literacy levels of primary / secondary school teachers working in the central district of Osmaniye and to measure the effect of various variables among the sub-factors of natural disaster literacy (behavior, affective tendency and knowledge). Within the scope of the study, primary school / secondary school teachers working in the central district of Osmaniye were reached and a questionnaire consisting of three sub-factors (behavior, affective tendency and knowledge) measuring natural disaster literacy levels was applied. The data of the research was collected by Ufuk SÖZCÜ in 2019 using the questionnaire developed in the study titled "Determining the Natural Disaster Literacy Levels of Prospective Teachers". The mean score of the natural disaster literacy behavior level of the participants included in the study was 1.67 ± 0.294, the average score of the natural disaster literacy affective tendency level was 1.85 ± 0.255, and the average score of the natural disaster literacy knowledge level was 87.62 ± 9,022. According to the scale in Table 4.6, these scores averages are considered as high level. This study has begun to address the importance of the issue and the lack of many Turkish publications in the literature on natural disaster literacy. In the study conducted to eliminate the deficiencies in the literature and to contribute to the literature, it will be an idea for those who want to work on issues related to natural disaster literacy.
