Abstract (EN)

In this study, After determining some ecological properties of leaves and soils of Thymbra spicata var. spicata L. (Karabaş thyme, Lamiaceae) cultured at March 2014 and May 2015 in Kadirli district of Osmaniye, carbon mineralization was observed (45 days at 28°C and 80% of field capacity) in leaves at equal (1/1) and half (1/2) amounts of soil organic carbon content mixed with the thyme soils. Carbon mineralization was also observed in thyme soils added at the recommended dose (10 g/da) and 5 (50 g/da), 7,5 (75 g/da) and 10 (100 g/da) times of this dose of Mospilan 20 sp insecticide. C mineralization in soils was determined by CO2 respiration method. While there was not significant difference among no added, soil added thyme leaves at 1/1 and 1/2 amounts of soil carbon in May 2014, a significant diffence was observed between no added soil and soil added thyme leaves at 1/2 level of soil carbon content in March 2015 (P = 0,001). In experiments added insecticide, C mineralization and its ratio of sample added 50 g/da Mospilan was found higher than both soils added 10 g/da and 75 g/da Mospilan (P < 0,05). In the light of these findings, it was observed that microbial activity slightly decreased different doses of thyme leaves added to the thyme soils.
