Abstract (EN)
In this study named "The Stock Market in Ottoman Empire and Its Impacts on Social Life", before reviewing the stock market issue which influenced 19th century, the economy of Ottoman has been reviewed in the first part within the general framework. From 16th century to 18th century, within the economic conception of Ottoman, it was dwelt on the fundamental phenomenons and foundations in economic field. Later on, the general assessment of 19th century was carried out and it was researched the beginning of borrowings in financial marketsby probing the amendments which the state that was undergoing to westernization process made in this period. In third part, the preliminary examples of the stock markets in Europe, their first emerging in Ottoman Empire, the unofficial Galata Stock Market and Dersaadet Bonds Stock Market which gained an identity with an ordinance issued in 1874 were reviewed. In the last part of the study, it has been dwelt on the influences of Stock Market on social life.
