Abstract (EN)
With the increase of strawberry cultivation in the world, breeding studies have also increased in order to develop new varieties. In this study; three local ('Karaçilek', 'Tüylü', 'Deli') and three standard ('Kabarla', 'Sweet Ann' and 'Sweet Charlie') strawberry varieties were used as pollinators for 'Osmanlı' local cultivar. F1 population obtained was screened at the morphological, pomological, physiological and molecular level and it was aimed to determine the self-productive (male non-sterile) variety candidates with superior characteristics. In 303 hybridization studies in which six pollinators were used, 202 fruits and 21 168 seeds were obtained with 66% hybridization success. The total of 2 036 seeds sampled from each hybrid were sown and 1 600 seeds germinated with 79% germination success. The number of plants was reduced to 736 individuals by pre-screening from the 1 294 F1 plants transformed to field and the selection of the first F1 plants was made according to the weighed grading method, and the best fifty two F1 plants were selected. According to the UPOV descriptor, their phytochemical and molecular analyzes, the final five F1 plants were selected. Although the genotypes obtained as a result of the evaluations made in the F1 population are superior to the 'Osmanlı' variety used as the main parent in terms of certain characteristics, especially in aroma, the fruit firmness do not generally reach the pollinator varieties. The final five F1 individuals selected with a graded rating were all hermaphrodite and everbearing. The fruits of the genotypes 'DA-1' and 'DA-6' had firmer than their parents 'Sweet Ann' in terms of hardness but the fruit size of the DA-1 genotype was smaller. and the aroma of the DA-6 genotype was slightly lower than other F1 genotypes selected. Molecular analyzes with fourteen UBC-ISSR primers were carried out to determine the polymorphism levels between the parents used in the hybridization, fifty-two selected F1 genotypes and one Fragaria chiloensis for comparison. Similarity index dendograms were divided into two main groups at the level of 20% difference, one large and the other small. While Fragaria chiloensis, Tüylü-2 and two F1s ( CC-48 and CA-97 code numbered) were in the small main group, other F1 genotypes and parents were in the large group.
