Ottoman state third army activity and command history (1843-2000)

It was first established on 6 September 1843 to 1911, for a period of 68 years. Since the establishment of the 3rd Army, which has assumed the responsibility of defense of Eastern Anatolia since 1911, it has taken part in all the warfare of which the state has been engaged and played an important and deterrent role in foreign policy as an important element of the national power. The aim of this thesis is to present the history of 3rd Army Command in detail, which performs important tasks both in the defense of homeland in conventional sense and in the fight against terrorism. For this purpose, the changes in the organization of the 3rd Army Command since its establishment, the warfare it participated, the activities against the uprisings in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Region and the activities of the Eastern Front, which has a special importance, were examined.
