Abstract (EN)
This thesis is about a General Raimondo Montecuccoli of Habsburg Army who played a big role in 1660-1664 Ottomans-Habsburgs relations and fighted against the Ottomans as a general of Habsburg allied army in the Battle of St. Gotthard (1664), and Mémoires de Montecuccoli which consist of his observations about Ottoman army. Therefore The Ottoman Empire's military structure in the XVII. century is tried to enlighten with Montecuccoli's observations. The questions how Habsburgs side saw the Ottoman army and what their attitude was about this big army are analysed carefully. This thesis is also about Tercüme-i Fenn-i Harb which comprised of Montecuccoli's memories' (Mémoires de Montecuccoli) translated version in Ottoman language. Therefore with other translated documents about military area also taking into consideration, there is an important result that the Ottoman military structure needed to translate to follow what transformed was in Europe military construction.
