The evaluation of the Ottoman Law Family Decree in the context of the canon law denominations

Islamic law has given importance to the family, which is the basis of the social structure, and to the arrangements related to the family. Because the family is a social and ethical institution. Because of this importance, family law is considered as a separate chapter in the books of Islamic law because it contains a wide area such as marriage contract and its consequences. Afterwards, individual works were also written. However, the Ottoman Empire wanted to place family law on an official basis due to the breadth and wealth of its subjects. Thereupon, prepared the Ottoman Law-i Family Decree with a committee in 1917. The effect has been great but has been in effect in as little as a year and a half. However, it still has an impact in many countries. The decree benefited from four denominations. Decree even took advantage of the different jurisprudence by going out of the four sects when it was appropriate. In this study, we will determine which sects and opinions of the articles of the decree that are related to Muslims.
