Some fiqh issues in the eyes of the chroniclers of the Ottoman classical age

This study has been prepared to determine fiqh issues of the Ottoman classical age through the eyes of chroniclers, to examine their background, and to determine them in terms of Islamic law. The chroniclers, who are sources of information by conveying their period in writing, are very important as they are witnesses and identify the reflections of the events on the society. It has become a necessity to deal with the works of chroniclers to gain an alternative viewpoint from the present to the past and to get rid of prejudices. In the first part of the study, we made a selection from the works of the chroniclers in a way that could accurately represent the different periods of the Ottoman classical age. Afterwards, we compiled the findings that could be an issue of Islamic law by scanning these works from beginning to end. In the first part of the study, the scanning model was used, and in the second part, the qualitative research method was used. This study, it is revealed how the issues of Islamic law appear from the eyes of historians by scanning the records and works of chroniclers. In addition, in this study, not only determinations were made, but also the evaluations made by the experts on the issues that emerged in the forenamed period were also discussed and an effort was made to reveal a realistic picture of the period. In this way, it has been possible to reconsider some of the erroneous and incomplete assessments made before regarding the period in question.
