The depictions of ceremony in ottoman miniatures

The Ottomans maintained the traditions and customs that inherited from the Turkish states which had been established before it and added new ones to this accumulation over time. With in these heritage, the Ottomans attached particular importance to the ceremonies that constantly exhibited the magnificence of the state with great influence and aware of the importance of the protocol and ceremonies in order for the state organization to maintain its strong and sound existence, it continued to implement these activities, which were almost a bridge between the state and the people, until the last days of the empire, albeit partially with changes. In this study, it is researched that the reflection of the rules and norms on ceremonies to miniature manuscripts, which have a huge important place in the Ottoman painting art. Also is reviewed that the subject selections of the miniature examples that the depictions of the ceremonies in miniatures which produced during the period from the foundation to the first half of the 19th century of the Ottoman Empire, the reasons of these selection and the connections of these subjects with the reign order were evaluated in parallel with the changes in the arrangement of the ceremonies.
