A research on the inter organizational factors affecting the intrapreneurship trend in hotel businesses

The purpose of this research is to determine the trend to intrapreneurship activities in hotel businesses and so as to achieve this aim, the opinions of the employees working in five-star hotel businesses have been sought. The study consists of two main parts.In the first part, some general information about the concepts of entrepreneurship and entrepreneur, and the characteristics of the entrepreneur have been handled in accordance with the advantages and the disadvantages of intrapreneurship. Other significant subjects pointed out in these parts can be stated as the comparison of the entrepreneur and the intrapreneur, the dimensions of intrapreneurship and intrapreneurship culture, and the factors influencing intrapreneurship. In addition to all these topics, the definition of the concept of tourism, the classification of accomodation and hotel businesses, and their characteristics have been mentioned in this study performed. In the second part of this research, an applied survey conducted on the employees of five-star hotel businesses operating in Ankara is provided.According to the results of the survey conducted with 302 employees working in 10 five star hotels operating in Ankara it has been determined that the intrapreneurship activities implemented in the businesses were not at an adequate level. Additionally, in the study, it has been observed that regarding the importance the businesses place on intrapreneurship there are differences in employee perceptions based on their ages, sex, marital status and education level.Key Words: Hotel Businesses, Entrepreneurship, Intrapreneurship.
