Comparison of photo prompting and video prompting in teaching domestic life skills to individuals with autism spectrum disorders

The effectiveness and efficiency of video prompting and photo prompting in teaching home life skills to people with OSB were compared in this study. The study's participants and teachers were polled on their thoughts on domestic life skills, photo tips and video suggestions. The participants are four male individuals with OSB aged 12 to 14 years. An adaptive alternating applications model was used in the research. A third skill control was chosen as a skill and start level data on this skill was acquired from all participants until the acquisition phase was completed in order to exclude the aspects that threatened the study's internal validity. The control skill was taught using the approach determined as effective and efficient after the participants finished the acquisition phase. When the efficacy findings were evaluated, it was discovered that photo prompting and video prompting were equally successful in conveying home life skills to people with OSB in all persons. The video tip was found to be more efficient for the participants when the efficiency findings were analyzed. Individuals maintain the acquisition stage of the skill after completion and may generalize it using both teaching techniques, according to the monitoring and generalization findings.
