Özet (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between repetitive behaviors and social skills of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Correlational research method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The participants of the study consisted of 218 parents of individuals between the ages of 6-17 and diagnosed with ASD who were studying in special education public schools. Repetitive Behavior Scale Revision Turkish Version (RBS-R-TV) and Autism Social Skills Profile Turkish Version (ASSP-TV) scales were used as data collection tools. Information about their children diagnosed with ASD was collected from the participants through the scales used. After the scales were collected from the participants, 8 participants filled out the scales incompletely and these data were not included in the analysis. After the elimination, the data of the remaining 210 participants were analyzed with the statistical package program and the findings of the study were presented. In addition to examining the relationship between the RBS-R-TV and ASSP-TV scales, since the RBS-R-TV scale consists of six subscales, the relationship of the ASSP-TV scale with each subscale of the RBS-R-TV was also examined. As a result of the analyses, no significant relationship was found between repetitive behaviors and social skills of individuals with ASD. At the end of the study, the findings were discussed within the framework of the related literature.
