Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to test the effectiveness of social stories in the acquisition of household safety skills of students with autism spectrum disorder. In the research, from the domestic security skills; Social stories were developed in order to provide the acquisition of electrical and fire safety, toxic substances protection skills and food safety skills. The participant of the study is a seven-year-old student diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. In the study multiple probe design with probe trials across behaviors was used. Before and after the social story application, the information learned was applied and data on the performance of the student in the school and home environment were collected. The findings of the study show that social stories are effective in the acquisition of domestic safety skills, monitoring and generalization. At the end of the research, satisfaction was measured with the social validity data. Parents and teachers gave positive opinions about the social stories used and the skills taught.
