Abstract (EN)

Businesses want to take firm steps by obtaining accurate information about their current resources in order to ensure their continuity in the sector in which they operate and to grow in a competitive environment. Automatic identification systems are used because of the difficulties in acquiring information. One of the sectors that have the most difficulty in determining the available resources is the logistics sector. For this reason, the selection of automatic identification systems that are most suitable for use in the logistics sector is desired. The system preferred by the decision makers is the radio frequency identification system. Radio frequency identification systems are systems that are included in automatic identification systems with three separate parts. The main subject of the thesis is the selection of the antenna, tag and reader parts of the system according to the principle of use. The problems experienced by the decision makers during the selection process among the alternatives are overcome by multi-criteria decision making methods. In the solution of the problems, the best-worst method was used for the weights of the criteria determined by the evaluations made with five different decision makers and the literature research. The weights found were used in the PROMETHEE and MOORA methods, and results were obtained in both methods. In both methods, rankings are formed for the selection of alternatives. The rankings obtained by the decision makers are similar in both methods and enable them to choose among the alternatives. For each decision maker, among these alternatives, there is the most suitable one for their needs. In his thesis, he contributes to the literature by applying multi-criteria decision making methods for each of the components that make up the radio frequency identification system. At the same time, it lays the groundwork for future studies by presenting a general view in terms of companies in the same sector but with different needs preferring the radio frequency identification system.
