Training requirements analysis application in automotive industry

Today, businesses are looking for ways to achieve success against their competitors in the developing world. World Class Manufacturing (WCM) efforts have become inevitable in this period, when businesses aim to increase their productivity and seek ways to improve their processes to keep customer satisfaction at the highest level. WCM system, a strategic tool for businesses; It is a structure that gathers many concepts such as quality, efficiency, continuous improvement, waste and losses, lean manufacturing, autonomous maintenance, occupational health and safety, logistics processes, human development, employee participation under a single heading. In this study, in order to complete the necessary competencies in this project for the projects assigned to the waste and losses in line with the World Class Manufacturing targets of a company serving in the automotive industry, training needs were determined through Excel Macro in order to follow and report the training planning processes. First of all, a detailed literature review was conducted in order to examine similar studies on the subject of the study. Later, a system analysis study was carried out and the processes suitable for this study were determined, and thus maximum improvement was achieved. Databases for the study were prepared using MS Office Excel program. A company-specific interface has been created through Excel Macro for monitoring, reporting and analysis of processes, and all these reports can be followed more dynamically and quickly through this interface. As a result, with this study, the "Loss and Project Based Training Needs Analysis" system based on minimizing the losses in the factory was started to be used. Thanks to this study, unnecessary trainings and unproductive times have been prevented by not implementing training planning for people who are not involved in the projects. By costing these unnecessary times, annual financial gain is reported thanks to this study.
