Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is provided to reduce the cost by reducing the design changes with alternative materials in the skeleton of the passenger seat of commercial vehicles. In general, seat brackets, foot brackets, seat, back, head and consists of components such as fasteners. Seats are an important parameter in comfort as well as mechanical properties. Optimization studies were done by using three different methods in seat back pipes. These methods; reducing the cross-section in the same material, using thinner sections with alternate material in the seat frame and making design changes in the foot brackets. In the applied methods, lightening and cost changes were investigated. The conformity of the seats with geometric shape changes to the international ECE R14 safety belt pull was confirmed by finite element method analysis. In addition, the mechanical thrust tests was carried out on the designs of the developed seats and the compliance with the international standards was confirmed.
