Abstract (EN)

As in all production enterprises, reducing the costs and improving the processes are of great importance in the competitive automotive sector. For this reason, lean manufacturing principles have been adopted in order to reduce the error rates, shorten cycle times and improve the production processes. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is one of the most critical key lean manufacturing tools that can analyze both value-added and value-added process steps and help identify hidden waste and waste sources. In addition, VSM is a visual tool for demonstrating how things work in the production line. Thanks to VSM, the current state can be determined and future state value stream can be created in line with the demand and in this direction, the company may produce a roadmap for its own objectives. In this study, the current state value stream map of an automotive electronics company was created and some improvements were made using lean manufacturing system techniques and the future state value stream map was revealed. Some of the techniques used are kaizen, root cause analysis, 5S and single minutes exchange of dies (SMED) activities.
