Abstract (EN)
Due to the natural and anthropogenic activities taking place in the world, the amount of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere shows fire and climate change occurs. In 1988, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was created for the global protection of climate and awareness of climate change. In 1997, with the Kyoto Protocol, countries were given responsibilities to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. In 2009, responsibility for reducing greenhouse gas emissions related to the Kyoto Protocol which Turkey has been a party oluşmuştur. In this study, a carbon footprint sampling was carried out in a company operating in the automotive supplier industry in Bursa Organized Industrial Zone. The data obtained from the facility are for the years 2019 and 2020 and are calculated by considering international emission factors. In line with the greenhouse gas inventories, with the Tier 1 approach in the examined company; The amount of carbon footprint resulting from fuels used for heating, electrical energy consumption, water use, wastewater generation, waste generation, personnel or service vehicles provided by subcontractor service has been calculated. The greenhouse gas emission released into the atmosphere as a result of the study was calculated as 16 501 tons in 2019 and 12 921 tons of CO2 eq in 2020. A comparison was made with existing studies in line with the results obtained. It has been concluded that if a renewable energy source is established for carbon footprint reduction, 489,538 tons of CO2 eq carbon emission will be prevented compared to 2019 data. Greenhouse gases formed as a result of human activities cause temperature changes in the atmosphere and natural disasters occur as a result. For this reason, it is important to calculate and monitor the amount of greenhouse gas emissions under control for information.
