Usually the air used in industry returns later to the atmosphere. In order to protect the environment minimum requirements with regard to the composition of exhaust air which is returned to the atmosphere must be kept. Where the removal of flammable organic substances is concerned, oxidation is the most universal and safest method of exhaust air or gas purification. The polluted air is heated to such high temperatures that the organic substances burn to water and carbon dioxide. Extensive heat recovery is of great importance in order to make the purification as cost effective as possible. The high temperature levels of thermal exhaust purification usually makes heat recovery a must. Thermal oxidation installations without heat recovery are unthinkable in the face of the modern energy and cost situation. Because exhaust air purification basically is a cost factor. It must be in one's interest to keep the expenses as low as possible. The best solution for each problem must be developed in stages. This makes exergy one of most powerful tools to provide optimum drying conditions. Exergy analysis becomes more crucial, especially for the industrial (large-scale) hightemperature drying applications. Nowadays , the principles of the first law of thermodynamic, which is used in the thermal systems design, is not found sufficiently enough. The reason for this conclusion is, the efficient use of thermal resource and systems is maintained by the quality of the energy, not by quantity of the energy. The second law of thermodynamics analysis has been made for the process, and the second law efficiency has been examined. Exergy is defined as the theoretical maximum work that can be acquired from a system. Development and growing up is very important for industry sector. In parallel to this, in engineering design, making the costs minimum or the gain maximum is the main target. Keywords: Coating, coat drying, thermal incinerator, heat recovery, exergy.
