Özet (EN)

Adequate osseointegration may not be achieved in the dental implant treatment of individuals with osteoporosis. Genistein is a phytoestrogen used in the treatment of osteoporosis. The aim of this study is to histologically examine the effect of genistein supplementation on the osseointegration level of titanium implants in subjects undergoing ovariectomy. For this purpose, the subjects; Being Control Group (n = 8), Control-Implant Group (n = 8), Ovariectomy-Implant Group (n = 8), Ovariectomy-Implant-Genistein Group (n = 8), Implant-Genistein Group (n = 8) It was divided into 5 equal groups. All subjects were sacrificed at the end of 3 months. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP), calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), aspartate aminotransference (AST), alanine aminotransference (ALT) analyzes were performed from blood samples taken from the subjects. Bone implant contact (BIC) and thread filling percentage (%) of the samples were analyzed according to the non-decalcified histological analysis method. The jaw and femur bone mineral density of the subjects were evaluated by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). ALP levels of implant genistein group were lower than other groups (p <0.05). Ca levels of the control group were higher than the Ovariectomy-Implant and Ovariectomy-Implant-Genistein groups. (p <0.05). Phosphorus levels in the control group were found higher than the Ovariectomy-Implant and Ovariectomy-Implant-Genistein groups (p <0.05). Phosphorus levels of the Ovariectomy-Implant group were lower than the Ovariyectomy-Implant-Genistein and Implant-Genistein groups (p <0.05). ALT levels of the Implant-Genistein group were lower than the Control, Control-Implant, Ovariectomy-Implant and Ovariectomy-Implant-Genistein groups (p <0.05). The ICB levels of the Control-Implant group were statistically higher than the Ovariectomy-Implant, Ovariectomy-Implant-Genistein and Implant-Genistein groups (p <0.05). ICB levels of the Ovarianectomy-Implant group were lower than the Ovariyectomy-Implant-Genistein and Implant-Genistein groups (p <0.05). The jaw bone mineral density (BMD) of the control group was higher than the Ovariectomy-Implant and Implant-Genistein groups (p <0.05). The jaw bone mineral density (BMD) of the Ovariectomy-Implant-Genistein group was statistically higher than the Ovariectomy-Implant and Implant-Genistein groups (p <0.05). When the data of our study are examined, it can be stated that genistein can improve the negative effects of ovariectomy on the bone and increase osseointegration.
