The effect of the story-based education program on the social and emotional skills of 4-5 years old children

The affect of Story Based Education Programme, which is ariented 4-5 years-old group of children, on social and emotional development is examined in this research. In accordonce with this purpose; the type of research is quantitive which is regumed pretest, posttest experimental design with control group. Dependent variable a research ıs social and emotional ability level of preschool student who are between 4-5 years old; independent variable is " Story Based Education Programme". The research was carried out in Koç Primary School in Elazığ in the 2021-2022 academic year. There are 10 girls and 10 boys totaly 20 children who are 4-5 years-old and have reflective feature in working group, there are 12 girls and 8 boys totaly 20 children in control group; totaly with 40 children the study was carried out. In the research Social Ability Rating Scale and Emotional Development Control list were used. The children in experiment group were applied the Story Based Education Programme 5 days in a week during 8 weeks. The children in control group carried on their regular education programme without intervention. At the and of 8 weeks; data collection tools were applied to both experiment and control group and all the datas were analyzed. White analysing data SPSS.25 package programme was used. The data which were token at the end of analyses; there are positive difference about social and emotional ability of children, when we compare the average datos of children, who took Story Based Education Programme, between pretest and posttest (p<.05). When we control and experiment groups in posttest, there is a huge positive differences. Under the light of this information we can get that result; Story Bosed Education Programme affects the children who are between 4-5 years old, both social and emotional way positively.
