The effects of game-supported mathematics learning unit of fractions for developments of 6th grade students? achievement, achievement motivation, self-efficacy and attiude

This research was done to examine the influence of game supported learning aproach of fractions unit in the 6th grade of primary school.This study was done in the Primary School in Sincan-Ankara with 70 students in the 2009-2010 education terms. In this research experimental research model with controlling group which is based on 3 times repeated calculation consisting of, pretest, posttest and permanency test was used. One of the 6th grades in the primary school was determined as experiment group, the other was determined as controlling group.In the experiment group the lessons were conducted with game-supported learning approach, while in controlling group the traditional education way was used. In the research math achievement test, mathematics achievement motivation scale, attitude scale for mathematics lesson, efficacy scales for mathematics were used to collect data. Achievement test prepared by the researcher, the other scales were readily used. These calculation means were used three times, before the experimental process, at the end of the process and 3 weeks after the end. The data were analyzed with LISREL statistic program.As a result of the research, it was seen that game-supported learning affects the students? achievement for their gains, sense of efficacy and their attitude improvement for the mathematics lesson
