Abstract (EN)
The game is important in the world of children in every aspect of development of the child and in the development of healthy generations as a society. Children are happy when they can consume the energy they have. The most important place where the child can throw his energy is the playgrounds. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of the game in the physical, mental and social development of the child and to examine the outdoor playgrounds in terms of design criteria. Examining the examples of some outdoor playgrounds in our country and the world, identifying the best design criteria and identifying the deficiencies in our country. For this purpose, in the open field playgrounds 59 from various countries and 13 from Turkey were examined. At the end of the study, parallel to the progress in science and technology, in countries with a higher level of development, focused on adventure playgrounds and contemporary playgrounds but the elements of nature are not detached from playgrounds. Theme based playgrounds are built. When building playgrounds, it was understood that the criteria such as security and material selection were very important.
