Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the professional competencies of special education graduate teachers and physical education teachers working in special education schools. Materials and Methods: Since our study was a quantitative study, relational screening model was used from screening models. The research universe consists of all teachers working in Akşemseddin Hearing Impaired Secondary School, İbni Sina Special Education Practice School and Turgut Özal Special Education Vocational Schools in Malatya province. The sample group consists of 57 teachers working in these schools. A five-grade measurement tool was applied to teachers as a data collection tool in the study. The research findings were analyzed using the SPSS 16.0 package program. Results: There were no difference between professional competence and gender, age, school served, professional experience, department graduated, faculty graduated, and educational status (p>0.05). The difference test value between special education graduate teachers and physical education teachers was found to be 0.735. Conclusion: According to the findings, no significant difference was found between special education graduate teachers and physical education teachers in terms of professional competence.
