Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine the opinion of parents regarding the distant method of education provided during the covid-19 pandemic for children who are in need of special education. Within the scope of this study, 350 parents have been reached, who have children whose age vary from 7 to 12, and who are in need of special education. The data collection tool used for the research is the survey form named Parent Opinions on Special Education Continuing with Distance Education during the Covid-19 Epidemic (Covid-19 UEGÖEG) developed by the researcher. In the study, it was concluded that although distance special education services are regular, distance education is not efficient due to the different learning levels of children, economic burden returns and the increase in the time allocated for care. Difficulties experienced by parents in relation to distance special education; Parents' lack of knowledge about the subject, unsuitable home environment and insufficient time in completing homework were grouped under the headings. Within the scope of the research, the suggestions made by parents with children in need of special education in order to benefit more from the distance education they received during the Covid-19 epidemic are that more appropriate support should be provided, the school-home relationship should be more and more flexible hours should be arranged for studies.
