Abstract (EN)
In the study, it was aimed to examine the reflections of the phenomenon of fraternity in family-themed paintings of typically developing children with siblings with special needs. Phenomenological design, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. Eighteen typically developing children between the ages of 4 and 8 who have siblings with special needs and their parents participated in the study. The data in this study were collected using picture analysis, semi-structured interviews and field notes in the researcher's diary. In the study, three family-themed pictures were made for typically developing children; Semi-structured interviews were conducted with parents. Interviews with parents and the researcher's field notes were used as supporting data for the children's picture analysis. When the findings obtained from this study were examined, it was learned that some of the typically developing siblings excluded their siblings with special needs and isolated themselves from the family. It is also observed that some typically developing siblings approach their siblings with special needs in accepting attitudes. In addition, it is seen that typically developing siblings are exposed to sibling violence resulting from behavioral problems, there are conflicts, jealousy and rivalry between siblings. When the data obtained from the pictures of the siblings and the interviews with the parents are compared, it can be concluded that the positive family environment increases the acceptance levels for siblings with special needs.
