Abstract (EN)
The services provided to protect people's most precious asset, health and to provide them a better life, are called health services. Hospitals, which are the most important institutions for reaching health services, have been categorized by considering many different criteria. In this scope, according to their ownership structures, hospitals are categorized as public hospitals, private hospitals, hospitals owned by foreigners and minority hospitals. The number of private hospitals which are the main subject of this study, has increased significantly in the recent years and thus competition in this sector has also increased. Unlike public hospitals, private hospitals, which serve a very important field such as human life, pursue economic goals. Therefore, in addition to acting in compliance with legal regulations, it is also very important for private hospitals to comply with professional ethics rules with the help of their organizational culture. This study aims to determine the effect of organizational culture on the tendency of private hospital employees to apply professional ethics rules. The study consists of four sections. In the first three sections, health sector in Turkey, organizational culture and professional ethics rules are examined in detail and the relevant sections are supported with literature and theoretical information is provided concerning the subjects. In the fourth and the last section of the study, a questionnaire was applied to the employees of a private hospital serving in Istanbul. According to the results of the analyzes of the responses to the questionnaire, it has been concluded that perception of organizational culture has an effect on organizational ethical climate perception in private hospitals and that organizational ethical climate perception of employees increases as the loyalty of employees to organizational culture increases.
