Conparasion of working in private and public hospitals of medical secretary employee job satisfaction and organizational trust levels

The aim of the research is to find out and compare the levels of trust and distrust towards the organizations that they belong to, as well as the levels of job satisfaction among medical secretaries from various branches and working at private and public hospitals which are particularly managed by varying strategies.In this study, for researching job satisfaction Minnessota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire, with 38 questions, is used whereas a questionnaire, with 43 questions, developed by Pınar Zorlu Yücel is applied to the medical secretaries for researching organizational trust levels. Questionnaire results regarding job satisfaction and organizational trust were collected as quantitative data, analyzed and findings were gathered.The research study has been carried out at 4 private and 4 public hospitals in Ankara. The study has been carried out with the participation of 111 secretaries, who work at polyclinics, clinics, laboratories, administrative units and executive secretaries, as well as those from other branches.Findings revealed that job satisfaction perception was different according to gender, work duration in organization, working department, graduated department and martial status. However, organisation, age, work duration in business sector ande educational background does not statistical important.Findings revealed that organisational trust was different according to gender, work duartion in organization, working department, educational background, graduated department, work status and martial status . Age and work duration were not different according to statistical results. Morever, there was a positif relatioanship between job satisfaction and organisational trust.In the light of this study, there are some suggestions about the perception of medical secretaries who work either in public or private hospitals on job satisfaction and organisational trust.
