Abstract (EN)
This paper is conducted to investigate the views of the principals and the teachers working at private pre-school education on the choice of the game, a fundamental need for the child.Research population includes the administrators and the instructors working at private pre-school education in Istanbul in the academic year of 2009 ? 2010. Research sampling is composed of 109 instructors and 18 administrators working at pre-school institutions in Istanbul. A questionnaire has been distributed to the administrators and the instructors participating to this study.The major conclusions of this study are as follows:-Pre-school instructors and administrators have reached a consensus on the effects of games on child development.-Aware of the contribution of the games to child development, the instructors and the administrators came to the conclusion that when planning games, children?s developmental characteristics should be taken into consideration.-This view of the administrators and the instructors does not vary majorly depending on their education level.
