Abstract (EN)
In this study, the concept of subcontracting employment and the negative effects of job insecurity brought on by subcontractor employment on employee attitudes are examined. For this purpose, firstly, the concept of flexible employment brought by neo-liberal policies and the subcontracting system, which is widespread within the scope of flexible employment, are examined together with the insecurity that this system brings with the employees. Job insecurity reduces their job satisfaction and increases their intention to leave as an important source of concern and stress for employees. The research section of the thesis was carried out in 2019 by 100 workers working in the mechanical installation sector in Istanbul. Data collected from these 100 workers were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 program and the data were subjected to correlation and regression analysis with validity and reliability tests. Research findings show that; (i) that job insecurity perceptions have a positive and significant effect on job stress, and (ii) job stress has a negative and significant association with job satisfaction. However, the results do not provide any statistically significant evidence regarding the relationship between job stress and intention to leave.
