Abstract (EN)
Nursing has emerged with the organization of patient care activity as a profession that carried out as an activity specific to women. Modern nursing has scientific information content, profession-specific rules, professional ethic values and professional autonomy.In the thesis work, dependent interdependent and independent roles of nursing that take place in nursing literature are handled, especially, independent roles of it that are really important in terms of professionalism criteria are handled in the framework of the autonomy principle.Some of the independent major roles of nurses that they play are care giver role, educator role, career development role, autonomy and responsibility role, patient advocate role, communication and coordination provider role, researcher role in researches related to nursing, manager role in managing patient care and treatment role in non-drug treatment transactions.Key Words: Independent nursing roles, Nursing, Principle of autonomy and respect for autonomy, Health professionalism, Medical ethics
