An Autofictionnel Analyse: Patrick Modiano's La place de L'Etoile

Patrick Modiano is one of the most important narrative writers of contemporary French literature, which was honored with the Nobel Prize for literary in 2014 with his unique writing style. From the second half of the twentieth century to the present, the author continues to produce literary production.It is noteworthy that he empasizes Jewish Genocide the family, identity problem, the concern of belonging to a community or not, the yearning for the past, the image of the family and the father, the images of the Holocaust, the effects of Nazi occupation on the French people in his writing.When looking at Patrick Modiano's works, it is understood that most of them are a product of his own life.It is possible to see his youth,his complex feelings towards his father, and traces going up to Paris during the war with the concepts of autobiography and autofiction in his works.. Our study consists of five parts. In the first part of the study, the concept of the narrative and the theory autofiction are mentioned. In the second and third chapter, the works of Patrick Modino, the author of the narrative, are evaluated in the context of the general lines of the autofiction. The fourth part of the novel,La Place de l'étoile, devoted to the reading of the novel, after examining the narrative of the novels in the last chapter, the quest for identity, war, forgotten and memory monitoring is resolved.
