Abstract (EN)

In this study, higher religous education institutions of Pakistan is investigated. First, the present education in Pakistan is considered in the general sense, traditional and modern educational institutions and the education system are presented and information about the religous education in these institutions are given. In the first chapter, historical and juristical basics of the higher religous education institutions are investigated. As historical basics, period of Indian subcontinent formation and development of higher religious education is divided into different periods such as `institutional development? (711-980), `program development? (980-1857), `reconstruction? (1857-1947) and `modernisation? (after 1947). As juristical basics, legal and political basics effecting the institutions of higher religious education in Pakistan are outlined. In the second and last chapter, details of institutions of higher religious education are given. Traditional and modern institutions of pakistan and as a specific modern institution, positive and negative aspects of `International Islamic University, Faculty of Islamic Studies? are discussed.
