Abstract (EN)
Orbitomalar grooves are located at the morphological separation point of the eye area and cheek region. The prominence of this groove increases with age. The depression in the interior of this region is called the tear trough. In anatomical studies, it has been shown that there is a ligament extends from the bone structure at the base of the tear trough region to the skin. Palpebromalar grooves are formed by the tear trough ligament medial to the groove and by the orbitalis-retaining ligament laterally. Our study revealed, the anatomical structure of the tear trough ligament and orbitalis-retaining ligament in cadaver dissection were revealed. Again, the morphological angle and neighborhood of these ligaments were evaluated. It was observed that the tear trough ligament continued with the orbitalis retainin ligament. Tear trough ligament has been shown to be denser than the orbitalis retainin ligament. Subcutaneous adipose tissue was not observed in the palpebromas groove region, and extension of the ligaments to the skin was observed. The under-eye area has a structure that changes rapidly in terms of aesthetics with aging. The tear trough and orbitalis-retaining ligament play an active role in the aging process of the detention area. Today, there are procedures for the tear trough ligament and orbitalis-retaining ligament for the aesthetic rejuvenation of this region. For a safe and effective intervention in this area, the anatomy of this area should be clearly known.
