Abstract (EN)

The subject of our thesis, which is field study, is to study the Sheikh Ali Sebtî Dargah/Shrine, which is located in Palu district of Elazığ province, in the context of sociology of religion. Dargah/Shrine was named after Sheikh Ali Sebtî, one of the caliphs of Mewlana Halid-i Baghdadi. Sheikh Ali Sebtî is originally from Diyarbakır and after settled in Palu district by order of his mentor to the end of his life. He had spread Naqhsbandi-Khalidi order in Palu, Harput, Bingöl, Diyarbakır, Bitlis and Erzurum province with his pupils and caliphs. Today, the dargah/shrine continues its activities under the leadership of Sheikh Zülküf Görür, one of his grandsons, who considers himself as his servant and successor. We prepared our thesis in two chapters. The first chapter, consisting of theoretical and conceptual framework was created by utilizing literature reviews as defined indirect observation. The second chapter consists of practise and interpretationwas created the historical background, faith, worship and community structure of the dargah/shrine which is defined as direct observation by using participatory observation and interview techniques. By contacting the relevant people in the field of study, the information about the place of research has been tried to be dealt with in an objective way in all dimensions of the current structure of the dargah/shrine, its effects on the near and far environment. In addition, due to the fact that it is intertwined with the public, the popular religious beliefs and practices formed around the world of faith of the dargah/shrine were also among the topics studied.
